The second edition of the Nagpur Kala Sangh, supported by Yuj Arts Foundation, kicked off on 21st September with the theme "Transcending Boundaries." The festival, inaugurated by Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, IAS, Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, opened with a traditional lamp lighting and a captivating folk dance performance by artists from Shri Kala Mahavidyalaya.
This year’s edition features over 140 art installations, sculptures, paintings, and photographs by students and alumni from Sir JJ School of Art and Shri Kala Mahavidyalaya. Highlights include the "Kala Car" installation, the Basement Art Project, and a variety of workshops including clay pottery and saree weaving.
The festival boasts significant collaborations with UNESCO New Delhi and the New York-based Arts for the Future Festival, further emphasizing its global reach. An Artist Mentorship Program offers emerging talent a chance to learn from renowned creators. The month-long event also includes exhibitions, poetry, music performances, and an artisanal bazaar.
Nagpur Kala Sangh continues to foster cultural enrichment and artistic innovation, bringing the community together in celebration of Maharashtra’s vibrant heritage.
